Job Description

An established engineering organisation is seeking an experienced General Manager / Production Engineer to oversee site operations, support project delivery, and contribute to both technical and commercial activities. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership and engineering expertise, ideally within industrial boilers, energy, or heavy engineering sectors.

Job Responsibilities

* Oversee day-to-day site operations, including production, repair, and engineering activities

* Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and efficient delivery

* Provide hands-on engineering support across production, maintenance, and troubleshooting

* Review technical drawings, specifications, and work packages to ensure accuracy

* Support project scoping, proposals, and resource planning

* Manage production schedules, workflow, and quality assurance

* Promote and maintain strong health, safety, and environmental standards

Skills Required

* Experience in a General Manager, Production Engineer, Operations Manager, or similar role within engineering or heavy industry

* Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

* Strong leadership and team management skills

* Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation

* Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills

Compensation & Other Benefits

* Salary £40,000 - £50,000

* Full-time, site-based position
