About the Role
A leading distributor is seeking an experienced Regional Transport Manager to oversee operations across four key sites. This is a hands-on leadership role based in Hartlepool, responsible for the compliant and efficient management of a fleet comprising 30 rigid vehicles and 5 artic combinations.

You will take full ownership of transport compliance, driver management, and daily operational performance, ensuring a high standard of health & safety, driver welfare, and facilities management throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership: Manage daily transport operations across four sites, optimising route planning and vehicle utilisation.

Fleet & Compliance Management: Ensure full O-Licence compliance, manage maintenance schedules, and uphold DVSA and health & safety regulations.

Team Management: Lead a team including two direct reports (Traffic Operator & Transport Administrator) and 36 drivers.

Driver Welfare & Engagement: Foster a positive working environment through regular performance reviews and proactive engagement.

Cost & Efficiency Control: Monitor fuel usage, vehicle maintenance spend, and driver performance to drive efficiency.

Key Requirements

Transport Manager CPC (National or International) - Essential

*

Experience managing multi-site transport operations

In-depth knowledge of O-Licence compliance, fleet regulations, and driver management

*

Experience with both rigid and artic fleet operations

*

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
