The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join their London-based team. This is a critical hire aimed at supporting the continued growth of the business by identifying and securing new opportunities across the architectural and construction sectors.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in metalwork, along with an established network of industry contacts. This role offers the chance to join a thriving business at the top of its game, with genuine scope to influence direction and drive new business.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute a clear business development strategy to secure new projects and client relationships.

Leverage an existing network within architectural metalwork, façades, and construction to identify opportunities.

Lead the full sales cycle - from initial contact and bid preparation through to negotiation and securing contracts.

Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, consultants, developers, and main contractors.

Collaborate with internal teams (estimating, design, and production) to ensure accurate and compelling proposals.

Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market movements to inform strategy.

Maintain CRM records and deliver regular reporting on pipeline, opportunities, and performance.

Key Requirements

Proven experience in a business development or sales role within architectural metalwork is essential

A strong network of industry contacts across London and the wider UK construction market.

Commercially astute, with a proven ability to win and manage high-value contracts.

Technically competent, able to understand drawings and discuss specifications with clients and design teams.

Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

Self-motivated and results-focused, with a proactive approach to securing new business.

Comfortable working autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
