Job Summary:

CJS Recruitment are seeing a detailed-oriented and experienced Estimator on a permanent basis to join a growing construction company who specialise in airport fit outs, ceilings, refurbs and airside construction that are based in Heathrow.

The Estimator will be responsible for analysing project plans and specifications, preparing comprehensive cost estimates, and supporting project bids. This role plays a key part in ensuring projects are financially feasible and competitive, contributing directly to the company's success.

Key Responsibilities:

* Review architectural drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine project scope and requirements.

* Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor services.

* Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.

* Conduct site visits when necessary to assess conditions affecting costs.

* Identify potential risks, discrepancies, and opportunities for value engineering.

* Participate in pre-bid meetings and client presentations as needed.

* Maintain cost databases and historical pricing records.

* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to refine cost projections.

* Assist in developing and submitting bid proposals.

* Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and construction methods.

Qualifications:

* Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry.

* Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and building codes

* Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, ProEst, or similar)

* Excellent analytical and mathematical skills

* Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities

* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications:

* Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field

* Experience with both residential and commercial construction projects

* Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Builder trend)
