Mechanical Design Engineer - Bedford - up to £70,000 + Benefits

I am currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work for a key client of mine who are based in Bedford. Salary up to £70,000 + Benefits.

The organisation has been established for over 100 years with a heavy presence in Europe for over 30 years. They are worldwide leaders in the design, development and manufacture of highly complex Special Purpose Machinery to their specific sector that they serve.

To support the growth of the business forecasted alongside being able to deal with the projects they currently have on the go they have the need to appoint another Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis.

In this role as a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be based at the centre of excellence designing and developing very complex Special Purpose Machinery. The role will be a combination of modifications and alterations to existing products in line with customer requirements as well as blank sheet of paper designs as and when required for bespoke products that the customer requires. You will be working in a closely-knit team of 4 other highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineers but will also be in communication with other departments within the R&D department. The organisation works in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years industry experience
• Previous experience working as a Mechanical Design Engineer or similar role
• Solidworks
• Experience in Sheet Metal / Fabrication

Desirable Requirements:

• Experience designing Special Purpose Machinery / Conveyors / Automated Equipment
