Exempt Position

The primary role of the Office Administrative Assistant is to provide support and assistance in coordinating the work of the church office. An additional role is to provide help and support for key activities and church events, when needed. A person in this position should have a strong theological background, is pleasant, exuberant, discrete, task-oriented team player, trustworthy, honest, and reliable.

An effective Ministry Administrator must:

§ Be a self-starter and have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations.

§ Possess strong professional administrative, written, verbal communication, and organizational skills.

§ Have the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple competing priorities.

§ Be creative and enjoy working within a small, entrepreneurial environment that is staff driven, kingdom focused, and functions in a high tempo environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES - This role will provide administrative, secretarial and ministry support for the Church office. This position will interface with all office employees and executive staff to execute responsibilities and facilitate proper operation of ministry initiatives.

Education or Experience

§ Bachelor's degree

§ Strong work tenure: five to 10 years of experience, preferably in a Non-profit organization

§ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat, and Social Media web platforms.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

§ The position is primarily sedentary. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

o High energy, strong reasoning, and problem-solving acumen

o Good hearing, good eyesight

o Operates a computer and peripheral digital devices.

o Ability to tolerate extended periods sitting or standing

o On an irregular basis, the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Principal Accountabilities:

General Administrative Accountabilities

  • Serve as the Church Receptionist
  • Provide general phone support – answer, transfer, take messages, and assist the caller
  • Perform personal tasks to include picking up lunch, getting coffee, running key errands, etc.
  • Provide basic secretarial support like transcribing and proofreading confidential emails/letters; preparing the Bishop/Administrative Pastor’s reports; keeping minutes of meetings and scheduling calls and appointments
  • Manage Ministry Executive’s calendars
  • Make travel arrangements for Senior Leadership (Bishop & Pastor)
  • Manage internal and external speaking requests/engagements for Bishop & Pastor Grier
  • Other duties as assigned

Ministerial Accountabilities

· Develop handouts and resources required to facilitate all ministry services.

Other Accountabilities

  • Support key church initiatives: Strategic Meetings, Concerts, Conferences, etc.
