GSL Education are looking for a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic school in Ashford. This rewarding role involves working closely with pupils who have complex emotional, behavioural, and learning needs, supporting them both in and out of the classroom.

Your responsibilities will include providing tailored academic and emotional support, helping to implement individual learning plans, and promoting positive behaviour throughout the school day.

About the School: This school educates children aged 5 to 18 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have experienced exclusion from mainstream settings. This school reflects strong leadership, effective teaching, and significant improvements in student behaviour and well-being.

Key Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

Support students with a range of complex needs in both classroom and one-to-one settings.
Help students develop their academic, social, and emotional skills.
Provide personal care when required and follow individual education and behaviour plans.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and external professionals.
Requirements:

Must be a driver due to the school's location.
Previous SEN experience is essential (this can be from care, youth work, or alternative settings, not necessarily schools).
Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach.
Both full-time and part-time availability considered.
Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
