About the Role

As a Year 1 Teacher, you will provide a stimulating and safe learning environment that encourages curiosity, resilience, and independence. You will play a vital role in helping children transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1 with confidence and enthusiasm.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum

Supporting early literacy and numeracy development using a variety of effective teaching strategies

Assessing and tracking pupil progress to inform planning and provide targeted support

Establishing positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to foster a strong learning community

Contributing to school-wide initiatives and creating an inclusive classroom culture

Person Specification

We are looking for a passionate and reflective teacher who is committed to high-quality education for young learners.

The ideal candidate will have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1

A strong understanding of phonics, early reading, and maths teaching methods

*

Excellent behaviour management and the ability to create a nurturing classroom environment

Effective communication and teamwork skills

A commitment to ongoing professional development and inclusive practice
