The successful candidate will:

• Lead the strategic development of the English curriculum from Reception to Year 8.
• Deliver engaging and challenging lessons from Years 4 to 8, including preparation for Common Entrance and Scholarship examinations.
• Inspire pupils to develop confidence, creativity, and critical thinking through a love of literature and language.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning across the department.
• Contribute fully to the school's vibrant extra-curricular programme.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous teaching experience in a Preparatory or Secondary school or Leading English across KS2.
• Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a track record of excellent classroom practice.
• Has leadership experience or clear potential to lead and develop a department.
• Is highly organised, committed, and reflective.
• Embraces the opportunity to get involved in the wider life of a busy and spirited prep school.
