About the Role

The summer turnaround is a crucial time at iQ Student Accommodation, as we prepare our buildings for the upcoming academic year. As students move out, our teams work quickly and efficiently to clean, maintain, and refresh rooms and shared spaces to meet high standards. This fast-paced environment requires strong teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering an excellent experience for both summer guests and returning students.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out day-to-day repairs and maintenance across the site
Support the onsite Maintenance Technician with tasks such as moving heavy furniture and equipment
Assist with move-in day operations
Perform basic plumbing, painting/decorating, lighting replacements, and statutory testing
Conduct silicone sealing, mastic work, and surface repairs
Respond to health and safety matters appropriately and promptly
Report incidents or accidents to the Operations Manager
Follow company policies and procedures for property maintenance
Attend a health and safety induction prior to starting; basic PPE will be provided

Skills & Experience

Proven experience in maintenance or general building work (e.g., plumbing, carpentry)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently with a positive attitude
Flexible and adaptable approach to work
Professional, courteous, and helpful manner
Smart appearance and adherence to company dress code

Desirable Qualifications

Awareness of Health & Safety requirements
A recognised trade qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, Building Crafts Operative Certificate) is desirable but not essentialIf you have the relevant experience and are ready to hit the ground running, we'd love to hear from you!
