Primary Support Assistant - Full-Time - Chesterfield
Start Date: September 2025 or ASAPPayrolled initially through Tradewind Recruitment, with the opportunity to move onto a direct school contract
Are you passionate about supporting children who need a little extra care and guidance to thrive? Do you have experience working with primary-aged children and a calm, nurturing approach to behaviour management?
We are currently recruiting for a full-time, permanent position based at a supportive and inclusive primary school in Chesterfield, working with pupils in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who are not currently in mainstream education. These children may face a range of barriers to learning including behavioural challenges, additional learning needs, or other difficulties that impact their ability to succeed in a traditional classroom setting.
About the Role: -
Full-time, permanent role starting September 2025 or as soon as possible

Working with KS1 & KS2 pupils in a small, nurturing environment

Supporting children with behavioural, emotional, and learning challenges

Building strong, trusting relationships to help pupils regulate and engage

Collaborating with teachers and specialist staff to create a calm and consistent setting
About You: -
Previous experience working with primary-aged children (in a school or alternative setting)

No formal TA qualification required - we value experience and the right personal qualities

A calm, empathetic and resilient nature

Confidence in supporting children with challenging behaviour

Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle - some travel may be required for school business

A strong desire to make a positive difference in children's lives
Safeguarding: This role will initially be payrolled through Tradewind Recruitment, with the potential to transition to a school contract following a successful period. All successful applicants will be fully vetted in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance, including an enhanced DBS check and professional references.
