Design Technician

Location: Hull
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
Salary: £37,000 - £45,000

The Role

We are seeking a skilled Design Technician to join a growing engineering and manufacturing environment, supporting the delivery of bespoke technical projects from concept through to production.

This is a hands-on design role where you'll work closely with project and manufacturing teams to develop accurate, high-quality models and drawings that support real-world fabrication and installation.

You'll play a key role in turning client specifications into practical, manufacturable solutions while maintaining high technical and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Produce accurate 3D models and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks

Develop design solutions that align with project requirements and manufacturing capability

*

Prepare drawing packs for approval and production

*

Revise designs in line with feedback from internal teams and clients

*

Support manufacturing teams with clear and accurate technical documentation

*

Maintain drawing standards and version control

*

Assist with design improvements and technical problem-solving

Requirements

*

Essential: Strong SolidWorks experience (3D modelling and manufacturing drawings)

Experience in a design or engineering role within manufacturing or construction

*

Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

*

Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy

*

Good communication skills and team collaboration
