Nutrition and Biosciences (N&B) business, which you are joining, with
International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) company with an anticipated
closing date in the first quarter of 2021. At closing, you will become
an employee of the newly merged company.
DuPont Nutrition and Biosciences is seeking a Maintenance/Project
Engineer to join our Institute site near Charleston, WV! The Institute
site is home to 2 Dupont businesses: POLYOX and Glutaraldehyde.

As a Maintenance/Project Engineer, the incumbent will be responsible
for providing oversight of the repair and maintenance of machinery at
the site, as well as leading improvements through project management
and capital upgrades. Machinery and equipment will include but not
limited to, piping systems, rotating mechanical equipment within the
manufacturer s specifications, as well as material handling processes.
The incumbents will improve reliability and asset performance by
specification of equipment repair, improving maintenance work
processes, technology improvements through project implementation, as
well as procedure development/updating. Opportunities for growth will
be based on performance in role.
The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Conform to plant safety and environmental requirements, accepting
responsibility for personal safety
Work in, and comply with, cGMP guidelines
Participate in safety hazard assessments prior to initiating work
to insure elimination of hazards
Ability to work in a team environment and communication with other
employees using multiple methods of communication
Understand and participate in maintenance reliability programs and
Participate in development of maintenance work schedule outlook,
including all upcoming major equipment shutdown and overhauls
Read and interpret pipe and valve code manuals, piping and
instrument drawings, isometric and orthographic drawings and
electronic prints and repair procedures.
Provide guidance on pipe codes, piping and instrument
specifications as well as proper torque specifications as needed
Ensure processes are followed regarding updating of information
(history) in SAP in order to maintain equipment records as well as
proper frequencies for maintenance plans
Identification and implementation of technological
improvements(TICA), including change management, project planning,
procurement, and installation of project work for both cost and
capital per forecast
Identify training as needed to upgrade/ refresh current
maintenance and craft skills for hourly skilled workforce in area
of responsibility
Maintain a high degree of motivation by being flexible, displaying
good leadership, and being able to prioritize and make informed
decisions to meet business requirements
The following are required:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
5+ years of relevant experience/education in industrial plant
Knowledge of rotating machinery, bearings and seals
Knowledge of all equipment in maintenance shop such as power
tools, saws, impact wrenches, grinders, etc.
Familiarity with change management and capital work processes
Experience with Microsoft Office, SAP, etc.
Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective
equipment) such as steel toes, hardhat, Nomex clothing,
protective eyewear, face shields, arc protective clothing, rubber
acid suits, Respirex hoods and SCBA (self-contained breathing
Willing and able to: lift or move up to 50 lbs.; climb stairs,
ladders, and columns; stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl,
utilize visual acuity, reach overhead, hear and respond to alarms
Willing and able to work both indoors and outdoors in hot, cold,
wet, and dry conditions
Willing and able to work around hazardous materials
The following are preferred:
Previous Maintenance Performance Management
Experience with SAP (or similar CMMS systems)
Experience with material setup and stores inventories vs. demand
Experience working in cGMP facility
