What you'll be doing;
  • Monitor and analyse plant performance metrics, including energy consumption, operational efficiency, and production output, gathering and interpreting data from both operational and maintenance perspectives
  • Work alongside the internal maintenance team on routine and non-routine maintenance tasks including Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) routines, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Support breakdown response activities and contribute to finding improved solutions, personally carrying out improvement work where appropriate, from minor modifications to process enhancements
  • Analyse electricity and energy consumption patterns across plant operations and develop and implement strategies to reduce energy consumption and costs
  • Review and optimise operational and maintenance processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste while considering both perspectives, collecting and interpreting data from multiple sources
  • Lead and coordinate improvement projects from conception to completion, managing contractors on-site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification
  • Conduct root cause analysis of performance issues and inefficiencies using diagnostic tools and methodologies
  • Prepare reports on plant performance/ improvement initiatives, presenting findings and recommendations to management
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organisation, providing training and support to operations and maintenance staff on improvement methodologies
  • Ensure all improvement initiatives comply with health, safety, and environmentalregulations, staying current with industry best practices and emerging technologies

What we're looking for;
  • Technical qualification in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field (HNC/HND or equivalent)
  • 3+ years' experience in plant operations or engineering
  • Hands-on maintenance/engineering experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools
  • Understanding of energy management principles
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with operations and maintenance teams
  • Practical, hands-on approach
  • Experience with CMMS systems (SAP, Maximo or equivalent)
  • Degree in Engineering (desirable)
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (desirable)
  • Experience with SCADA systems and energy management standards (desirable)
