A welcoming and specialist school in Watford is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. The school supports students with autism and complex needs, offering a caring environment enriched by excellent multidisciplinary support.

About the Role

This is a full-time, term-time position ideal for someone who is empathetic, proactive, and ready to contribute to a supportive learning environment. Whether you're experienced in SEN or looking to start your journey, you'll be well supported by a knowledgeable team.

Responsibilities

Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for students with autism and other needs

Support the delivery of personalised learning and therapy activities

Help develop pupils' social, communication, and life skills

Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation

Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and families

Assist with personal care where appropriate

Maintain accurate records and help monitor student progress

What We're Looking For

Previous SEN experience is a plus, but not essential

Calm, patient, and compassionate approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Eagerness to learn and take part in training

Dependable, flexible, and committed to inclusive practices

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
