Our client is a large global manufacturing company currently searching for an experienced Senior Human Resource Manager to act as a strategic business partner and an employee advocate at one of our largest company operations, located in the Chicago, IL area..
The Senior Human Resources Manager serves as the HR business partner for multiple product lines and will provide a broad range of HR generalist activities across the divisions located in the Chicago, IL area. With talent being a priority, a deep understanding of building strong talent acquisition processes and organizational development capabilities will be critical. This leader will need to have HR experience in a manufacturing environment and have a passion for “walking the floor” at facilities to build trust, drive engagement and understand the drivers of the employees. Experience with labor relations would be very beneficial along with previous talent acquisition experience and/or HR experience delivering talent/retention processes across a multi-plant setting.
This “hands on” Sr. HRM will be the HRBP for two GM’s and will support HR for multiple manufacturing facilities across aprox. 700+ employees. Reporting to the director of Human Resources North America. They will be responsible for all HR activities through utilizing existing processes/frameworks that are in place, corporate COE’s and partnering with their peers/key stakeholders across the broader organization.
Serve as an HR Business Partner to North American manufacturing locations including Division Leaders, Plant Managers and HR resources to assess, create and rollout people strategies and processes including performance management, employee relations, recruitment, succession planning and compensation systems.
Accountable for effective execution of the recruiting plan from either internal and/or external talent pools. Ensures development and execution of employee on-boarding program.
Coach, develop and implement HR functional excellence continuous improvements across multiple HR work streams including staffing, OD, employee relations, compliance and talent management.
Ensures effective performance of the site HR resources and people-related processes. Implements metrics to measure value, efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
Responsible for deploying integrated employee communications plan that aligns key elements of performance culture, talent management, individual development and employee engagement.
Drive Positive Employee Relations to engage leadership and hourly employees in continuous improvement and Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Cost.
Develop collective bargaining strategies for negotiation preparation for six CBAs and participate in labor contract negotiations, by partnering with all key stakeholders working towards mutually beneficial solutions.
Ensure consistent, timely and accurate application and compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations and are consistent with Mauser policies and practices.
Travel to all sites to continually build trust, drive continuity and ensure consistent processes, programs and culture are in place.
Bachelor’s degree required, MS/MA preferred.
Minimum of 6+ years of progressive experience with a demonstrated track record of driving results leading HR in a multi-site manufacturing or large plant client group.
Labor relations experience in a manufacturing setting
Experience collaborating with senior executives/line leaders/HR to successfully design, develop and deliver HR programs with tangible outcomes.
HR experience and comfort in the manufacturing plant setting.
Exceptional business, financial acumen and work flow prioritization skills.
Demonstrated ability to produce results within a team environment, to develop productive working relationships at all levels of the organization and to appropriately challenge or influence decisions working across global regions.
Proven ability to roll up their sleeves and demonstrate resourcefulness, initiative, results-orientation and a constant focus on service delivery
Ability to travel (at least 40%+) to sites
