Platform Resourcing is looking for a Scheduling Service Manager to join a busy Commercial Vehicle Engineering department in the Caerphilly area. The company is very well-established, are in an exciting time of expansion and this role is a key position for them.

The role will include daily interaction with Blue -Chip customers, ensuring they are receiving the service levels expected from both your scheduling team as well as the engineers they are scheduling. This position that will require strong, proven and successful people management experience as well as the drive and commitment to achieve KPI's. Preferably this person will come from an Engineering services background and will have interacted with teams responsible for scheduling engineers.

Service Manager Benefits:

  • Salary of up to £30,000 but negotiable for the right experience
  • Hours Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm
  • 20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays

Service Manager Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the day-to-day operational functions of the Service department
  • Ensuring scheduling office staff manage remote engineers to provide the most cost and time effective routes using their geographical knowledge, minimising travel and maximising productive working time
  • Resolve customer service issues, directly liaise with customers when necessary to provide solutions
  • KPI management/ Performance Assessment & Competitive Excellence
  • Review and produce daily reports (highlighting and managing any staff errors in advance)
  • Manage team absences, annual leave and sickness
  • Hiring, training and retention of staff
  • Expense control
  • Implementing best practise for the efficient running of the department

Service Manager Experience/ Skills:

  • Experience of managing a customer service/ scheduling team within an Engineering environment/ business
  • People management - motivating, influencing and helping to achieve KPI's
  • Experience of running reports
  • Ability to extract, collate and present data to the management team
  • Experience of liaising with other internal departments to check information, stock availability and request changes/ support
  • Excellent planning, organising, prioritisation, and project management skills
  • T. Literate in all Microsoft Packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Confident and professional telephone manner - direct contact with customers
