Key Stage 4 Teaching Assistant (SEMH)

Location: South Norwood

Start Date: 1st September 2025

Working Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:00am – 3:30pm

Contract: Temp to Perm (until 24th July 2026)

Pay: £100 to £110 per day (PAYE)

We are currently recruiting for a specialist SEMH college in South Norwood, supporting young people aged 14–16 who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This long-term role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and resilient Key Stage 4 Teaching Assistant to work in a nurturing and structured environment.

You will play a key role in helping students access their education through personalized support, emotional regulation, and behavior guidance.

• Proven experience supporting students with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or additional learning needs
• Confident in managing behaviour and de-escalating difficult situations
• A calm, consistent, and patient approach
• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with young people
• A passion for inclusive education and supporting the development of every learner
• Reliable, proactive, and committed to long-term engagement

Responsibilities include:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support both in and out of the classroom
• Supporting behavior plans and therapeutic interventions
• Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and adapting materials
• Helping students engage in learning and develop social-emotional skills
