My client specialise in the provision of bespoke equipment for the printing & packaging industries. They are currently looking for an Electrical Control and Design Engineer to join the team in Huddersfield, in order to support their aggressive plans for growth.

Monday to Friday 8:30am- 5:30pm (with 3pm finish on Friday)
40 hours a week
Responsibilities:

Design, wire, test, and install electrical control panels in adherence to the appropriate national standards.
Ensure panels are certified according to the relevant standards for the country of installation.
Interpret electrical drawings, evaluate FAT's and hardware specifications.
Write comprehensive functional specifications and other documentation for control systems.
Generate Bill of Materials (BOMs) to facilitate procurement and assembly processes.
Document the overall system design and maintain necessary paperwork.
Develop Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for hydraulic and pneumatic components.
Perform calculations as required to ensure accurate system functionality.
Create efficient and reliable code for control and automation systems.
Install and commission equipment within customer machinery.
Adapt and modify customer existing sensor and system configurations as necessary.
Ensure seamless integration of control systems into customer equipment.
Required Skills:

Strong design capabilities, including panel building and wiring
Proficiency in programming PLCs, Siemens, and ideally IDEC systems
Experience working to UL and CE markings
Thorough understanding of control system documentation and functional specifications
Familiarity with certification requirements and the ability to secure necessary certifications (e.g., UL and CE markings)
Leadership skills / potential
Experience in creating P&IDs and performing relevant calculations
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Willingness to travel to customer sites, both within the UK and internationally
Possess an understanding of certification requirements for different countries and installations
Apply for relevant certifications based on experience and knowledge
Program PLCs - knowledge of Siemens systems and preferable experience with IDEC
Desirable Skills:

Experience in fabrication processes
Able to lead a team of instrumentation fitters
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers, customers, and internal teams
A graduate with 5+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
