Location: MertonContract: Full-time (agency)About the RoleMerton Council is seeking an experienced and committed Social Worker to join their Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children, young people, and their families.You will deliver high-quality social work services in line with the policies and objectives of the Children, Schools & Families department, ensuring the safeguarding and promotion of welfare remains at the heart of your practice.Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of children and families within the CWD service
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments of need and risk
  • Develop, implement, and review care plans tailored to individual needs
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to deliver effective interventions
  • Ensure appropriate resources are identified and utilised to safeguard children
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements
  • Promote positive outcomes for children, young people, and their families/carers
Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
  • Proven experience working with children and families, ideally within a CWD setting
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload effectively
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding procedures
