Salary: £105 - £130 per day

Key Information
• Role: Science Academic Mentor
• Start Date: 23rd February 2026
• End Date: Until May half term (22nd May 2026)
• Days Required: 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
• Working Hours: 7:50am- 4:10pm (7.5 hours per day, including a 50-minute lunch break)
• Subject Focus: Science

The Role - Day-to-Day DutiesAs Science Academic Mentor, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils at Key Stage 4, focusing on academic progress and confidence in Science. Duties will include:
• Providing targeted 1:1 and small-group Science tutoring up to GCSE level
• Supporting pupils with exam preparation, revision strategies, and subject understanding
• Working with pupils who require additional academic intervention
• Monitoring progress and feeding back to teaching staff
• Acting as a positive role model within the school environment
• Supporting pupils with organisation, motivation, and study skills
• Maintaining professional standards and safeguarding responsibilities at all times

Person Specification
• A high-achieving graduate with a strong academic background in Science
• KS4 tutoring experience is essential
• Currently working within the education sector (e.g. school-based role, tutoring, mentoring)
• Strong desire to pursue teacher training in the future
• Recent graduates or candidates with GCSE-level tutoring experience are particularly encouraged
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, organised, and committed to supporting pupil progress
