Smart Education is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a supportive alternative provision in the Middlesbrough area. This role offers the opportunity to teach students aged 11-16 who face a range of challenges, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties (BESD).

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and practical Science lessons tailored to varied learning needs

Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

Differentiate content for students with a range of learning profiles

Collaborate with SENCOs, support staff, and pastoral teams

Encourage emotional regulation and positive behaviour in the classroom

What We're Looking For:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent

Strong subject knowledge in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or general)

Experience working with additional needs, preferably in SEN, PRU, or alternative settings

Effective classroom and behaviour management skills

A patient, adaptable, and positive teaching approach

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

A passion for making science accessible and inspiring
