The Lockwood Group is a family-run business established in 1965 which currently has over 280 employees across 4 UK sites. Our services include UK haulage and storage, frozen food production and co-packing solutions. Due to recent growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Key Account Manager.

 

The Role - Key Account Manager:

The role operates on a Monday to Friday basis with weekend working as and when it is required. Duties include:

  • Ensuring that existing customer needs are fulfilled while developing new customer relationships and network opportunities
  • Meeting and exceeding our customer's transport and warehousing requirements
  • Communicating effectively with internal departments in relation to customer matters
  • Agreeing SLA (Service Level Agreements)
  • Negotiating rates with customers
  • Resolving any arising queries
  • Meeting cost, productivity, accuracy and SLA targets
  • Looking for potential new business opportunities
  • Attending monthly review meetings with key accounts
  • Composing monthly/weekly KPI reports
  • Visiting new and existing customers as and when required
  • Growing relationships with customer's key personnel
  • Complying with laws, regulations and BRC requirements
  • Salary will be dependent upon relevant skills and experience

 

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Proven experience within logistics (management level or higher)
  • Strong Account Management experience
  • Experience of managing costs and margins
  • Knowledge of road haulage and warehousing industries
  • A full UK driving licence and checkable references
  • Warehousing/storage operational experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels
  • Highly innovative and proactive
  • Excellent numerical and IT skills
  • Remains calm and focussed under pressure
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Good time management - ability to plan and organise workloads
  • Strong negotiation skills

Desirable:

  • Qualification within business, logistics or supply chain
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification
  • Experience of handling multiple projects
  • Proficient in standard logistics software
