Full‑Time EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant - Birmingham B45 (January Start)

APT Education, the challenger brand in primary recruitment, is proud to be recruiting for a full‑time EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school near Forestdale, Birmingham B45. This role begins in January 2026 and runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm.

We are looking for a dedicated professional with proven UK primary school experience who can provide exceptional support to pupils in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN).

🏫 The Role

* Deliver 1:1 support for pupils with Autism, ADHD, behavioural needs, and non‑verbal communication challenges

* Lead and assist with small group interventions to support literacy, numeracy, and social development in EYFS

* Use strategies such as PECS, Makaton, visual timetables, and positive behaviour management to aid learning and communication

* Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCO, and wider staff to adapt learning plans and ensure inclusive practice

* Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues through excellent communication skills

* Create a nurturing, safe environment that promotes independence, confidence, and progress for every child

✅ Candidate Requirements

* Proven UK primary school experience in EYFS and SEN support (essential)

* GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths

* Demonstrated experience supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, behavioural needs, and non‑verbal communication

* Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to diverse learning needs

* A fully enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
