Salary: £20 - £40/hour paye (no umbrella)

Location: Wakefield
Contract: Supply, Term-Time Only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 12pm-3pm (Teaching Assistant) and 3pm-6pm (After School Care Manager)
Start Date: January 2026 or sooner for the right person.

Trust Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic professional to take on a dual role within a supportive primary school environment. This combined position includes working as a Teaching Assistant from 12-3pm and then leading the team as the After School Care Manager from 3-6pm.

Teaching Assistant (12pm-3pm)

Your Key Responsibilities:

* Support teaching and learning across the school.

* Work with the class teacher to assist in planning and delivering activities.

* Provide 1:1 or small group support when required.

* Help create an engaging, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

* Assist with behaviour management and pastoral support.

* Prepare resources and support the general running of the classroom.

Requirements:

* Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).

* Experience working with children in an educational setting.

* Good communication and teamwork skills.

* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

After School Care Manager (3pm-6pm)

Your Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and support a small team of After School Care Assistants.

* Organise creative, engaging, and age-appropriate after-school activities.

* Maintain accurate registers, records, and rotas.

* Ensure the safety, welfare, and safeguarding of all children at all times.

* Communicate effectively with staff and parents.

* Oversee snack preparation, ensuring dietary and hygiene standards are met.

* Create a warm, fun, and stimulating environment where children can play, learn, and develop social skills.

Requirements:

* Level 6 childcare qualification (or equivalent).

* Experience working with children in a leadership or supervisory role.

* First Aid and Food Hygiene certificates (or willingness to train).

* Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills.

* Excellent understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and health & safety.
