Our thriving electronics client is taking on additional staff due to growth. You will be working on a variety of different products so there's a lot of variety and interesting work involved within this role.

This is a key role to add strength to the existing quality inspection team. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for the checking the quality of assembled PCB's populated with both SMD and PTH components and for the quality of finished products. You will be competent in using a variety of different software tools and equipment to ensure the highest quality standards are maintained across the business.

It is desirable that you are, or have been certificated to IPC 610 and J-Std as a very minimum. Ongoing training and certification will be carried out by the in-house certified trainer. Your knowledge of IPC quality standards will be supported by use of optical and automated inspection tools. You will also have a proven ability to organise, control and prioritise a constantly changing workload. Communication at all levels with other departments is essential as is the active participation at internal quality meetings.

The role of PCB assembly Inspector offers a balance of routine inspection work with the opportunity to be involved with new products from an early stage.

The main responsibilities of this role are:

* To strengthen the quality inspection team using your existing skills and experience.

* To undertake routine board and product inspection.

* To work closely with the Manufacturing Manager and Lead Engineer to resolve any issues affecting manufacturing.

* To work closely with the Test Manager to resolve quality or product throughput issues.

* To assist with the control and prioritisation of the departments constantly changing workload.

* Ensure that the documented quality procedures are followed at all times.

* To inspect assembled PCBs using automated inspection systems (AOI) and the x-ray system for which full training will be given.

A flexible attitude towards working hours and a competent, keen personality are also key to this role.
