Housing Standards Officer needed in Exeter Paying  £44 per hr ref #removed#

Full time hours on a temporary basis

• Carry out inspections of private rented properties using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
• Investigate complaints relating to poor housing conditions, overcrowding, damp, mould, or disrepair.
• Take enforcement action where necessary, including improvement notices, prohibition orders, and civil penalties.
• Provide guidance to landlords, agents, and tenants on housing standards and legal responsibilities.
• Support the delivery of licensing schemes such as HMO licensing or selective licensing.
• Prepare reports, maintain accurate records, and present evidence when required.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to protect vulnerable residents and improve housing safety.
