Reed Tutors is collaborating with the Hertfordshire Local Authority to provide specialised educational support. We are seeking experienced 1:1 SEND Teachers to deliver tuition tailored to children with special needs. This role involves working in various settings, including the child's home or local community centres and libraries.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide tailored one-to-one educational support to children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Plan and deliver engaging sessions that cater to the individual learning needs and goals of each student.
  • Work in various settings, including the student's home, community centres, or libraries.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents, guardians, and educational coordinators to discuss student progress and any adjustments needed in the learning plan.
  • Ensure a safe, supportive, and effective learning environment during each session.
  • Commit to a minimum of 15 hours of availability during school hours.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with special needs children in an educational setting.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable.
  • Mandatory possession of a current DBS certificate on the update service.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and educational professionals.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs and abilities of SEND students.
  • Patience, creativity, and dedication to student development and education.
