About Us:

Our client is a busy multi-disciplinary practice based in Manchester City Centre specialising in housing disrepair and financial mis-selling.

The Role:

We are looking for a motivated and ambitious trainee Costs Draftsperson to join our team and build a career in costs.

Key Responsibilities:

The role will involve supporting the Costs Manager and wider team with:

* Assisting with the drafting of schedules and bills of costs

* Preparing and amending costs budgets

* Negotiating costs under supervision

* Preparing documentation for costs hearings (predominantly housing disrepair cases)

* General support with the costs process and case management

* Assisting with preparing Costs Budgets

* Drafting simple Bills of Costs under supervision

* Preparing Costs Estimates and Schedules

* Assisting with Points of Dispute and Replies

* Negotiating costs where appropriate

* Supporting the team with ad hoc tasks as required

What We're Looking For:

* Has some prior exposure to costs (either in housing disrepair or another area of law)

* Is eager to learn and progress within costs

* Has strong attention to detail and good written skills

* Can manage their time effectively and handle a small caseload with supervision

* Has experience with CostsMaster (advantageous but not essential)

Salary:

* Ranging from £23,000-£25,000 per year depending on experience, with clear scope for progression as you develop your skills.

Work Location:

* Our office is based in Manchester City Centre. This is an office-based role (5 days per week).
