About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Compliance Manager to join a well-established food manufacturing business in the Greater Manchester area.

This role is central to maintaining and improving site accreditation standards. You will take a proactive lead in preparing for all customer and external audits (both announced and unannounced), ensuring key aspects are reviewed in a team forum, actions are taken, and compliance is consistently achieved.

A key aspect of this position will be working closely with internal auditors, driving down non-conformances, and ensuring continuous improvement across the site. To be effective, the successful candidate will spend around 70% of their time in the factory.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the internal audit programme, engaging staff and communicating outcomes effectively.

Prepare for planned and unannounced customer audits, ensuring expectations are clear and actions are completed.

*

Conduct GAP analyses of new codes of practice, updating procedures and risk assessments to ensure compliance.

*

Contribute to the HACCP team, supporting reviews and the implementation of new/existing HACCP studies.

*

Assess departmental procedures, communicate audit outcomes, and ensure corrective actions are taken.

*

Review and challenge training plans, ensuring all staff are trained and reviewed within set timescales.

*

Carry out monthly non-conformance reviews, identifying trends and implementing preventative measures.

*

Support new product launches, conducting process audits to ensure compliance with specifications, CCP controls, and QAS documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

*

Level 4 Food Hygiene

*

HACCP certification

*

Internal Auditor qualification

*

Previous compliance/technical experience within the food manufacturing sector

*

Strong knowledge of audit preparation, customer standards, and food safety legislation

*

Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to drive high standards
