Job Summary

Integrated Pathology Partnerships ("iPP") operate theSouthwest Pathology Services contract (“SPS”) part of the joint venture betweenYeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and Integrated Pathology Partnerships Ltd.

We have an exciting opportunity for a HCPC registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join our team in SPS. We are looking for someone to work in our Blood Sciences dept. and either be trained in Biochemistry, Haematology and Transfusion.

Ideally, the successful candidate should be driven, passionate with good interpersonal skills who wants to develop their career further within a supportive environment. 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Greater than 2 years post HCPC registration experience of working in a biomedical laboratory at post graduate level ideally with cross disciplinary experience, with good current working knowledge of automated techniques and practices in Biochemistry/Haematology/ Coagulation and Blood Transfusion.

  • Blood Transfusion experience would be an advantage, but we also welcome applications from candidates with Biochemistry or Haematology experience who are looking to expand their knowledge and skill base.

  • Our laboratories are CPA, MHRA and CQC accredited and approved for IBMS Training.

  • This is an opportunity to progress your Biomedical Science education/knowledge and skills with support available for IBMS expert practice/Higher Specialist Diploma, other post graduate qualifications including MSc and first level management training.

The successful candidate(s) dependent on experience would operate across either of our Essential Service Laboratories (ESL’s) at Musgrove Park Hospital or Yeovil District Hospital that operate a 24/7 service.
