Project Controller

Would you like to work on complex and technically challenging projects within the Europe and International Air Sector of BAE Systems? We currently have a vacancy for a Project Controller at our site in Warton.

As a Project Controller, you will be part of a team of professionals using world class project control techniques to support the Project Managers in the delivery of large, high value, technically complex and strategically important programmes.

This role will provide you with opportunity to utilise state of the art project control technology and play an integral role in Program Management team.

Your main responsibilities as a Project Controller will involve:

Establishing and managing the project schedules

Tracking spend and controlling project costs

Implementing and utilising Earned Value Management methodologies when appropriate

Driving ownership of the work scope tasks throughout the project team

Managing scope change for the project

Supporting the identification and management of Risks and Opportunities

Analysing project information to enable early identification of problems and then implementing mitigation actions

Providing managerial analysis and a level of independent challenge to the organisation with respect to project performance

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

  • Exposure of operating an effective project control system to define progress and identify programme performance issues
  • Understanding of creating and maintaining project schedules using toolsets such as MSP, OPP and Primavera
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management techniques
  • Demonstrable understanding of risk, opportunity and change management
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills to enable key decisions to be made effectively

Desirable:

  • A formal project management qualification (e.g. APMP, PMQ, PMP or Prince 2)
  • Experience gained with a complex engineering business

You will have the ability to identify potential problems and express solutions with clarity. You will have excellent communication skills and proven experience of developing and maintaining excellent stakeholder relations.

Salary: £32,660+ Dependent on experience and skills
