Summary of the main purpose of the role:

Ibstock plc are offering the successful candidate a HR Support CIPD Level 3 Apprenticeship, working within the HR Team alongside experienced HR Coordinators, enabling them to develop the required skills and experience to work with this environment, with a view to developing a long-term career within the business.

The broad purpose of the occupation is to support the Early Careers activity within Ibstock - coordinating recruitment directly relating to our apprenticeship programmes. This role will encompass the entire apprenticeship lifecycle from advertising through to selection and onboarding.

Key Duties:

Recruitment Processes
•    Place internal and external adverts onto websites/ sites to attract candidates
•    Coordinate assessment dates with factories / functions for 2023 recruitment and managing candidate attendance via our agency partner 
•    Managing and liaising with external agencies regarding shortlisting and assessment activities
•    Supporting assessment days and ensuring resources and materials are in place 
•    Working with the corporates communications teams to launch a social media campaign
•    Receive offers from hiring managers and manage the hiring process with HR Operations; keep candidates informed of next steps in process 
•    Manage process for unsuccessful candidates and details of how to obtain feedback 

Induction and Onboarding 
•    Organise equipment / uniform for all new starters 
•    Provide hiring managers with guidance for apprenticeship inductions and welcome packs 
•    Supporting on boarding events and activities in the induction process

School and community engagement
•    Liaising with factories around community engagement activities and materials required
•    Management of a central repository of resources for early careers materials and sending these out to sites for use
•    Supporting early careers fayres and activities as required
•    Research of training providers / school/ colleges to target for early careers activity 

Admin activity
•    Invoice processing
•    Scanning and copying of certificates  / training records 
•    Booking meetings rooms and venues / accommodation as required 
•    Dealing with day to day queries on the programmes

Experience, Qualifications & Attitudes
•    You must already have Functional Skills English and Maths level 2 or GCSE certificates A*- C or 4 - 9 or equivalent.  A British Sign Language (BSL) qualification is an alternative to English qualification from those whose primary language is BSL
•    You will contribute to a positive working environment within the HR function, show a positive, enthusiastic attitude and be receptive to change
•    You will be required to communicate with many different areas of the business, and at all levels
•    You will be passionate about delivering a first class customer experience for apprentices and hiring managers
•    You will be able to work in an environment where confidentiality and remaining calm is fundamental
•    Develop confident relationships with internal and external customers, be able to challenge and question where appropriate and strive for the best outcome for Ibstock  
•    Be open, honest, respectful and reliable and actively engage with the company values.
•    Enjoy working with detail and have an analytical approach, ensure you prepare in advance for meetings / negotiations and follow up with actions and minutes.  Good excel skills would be an advantage.
•    Self-motivated, want to progress and learn, willing to put the effort in to gain the reward. 
•    Encourages feedback and will take ideas for how to develop and improve on board, whether they be technical or behavioural. 
•    Will take advantage of opportunities to learn from and shadow other team members, but will also suggest ways to improve tasks and outcomes
