About the job:

We have an exciting opportunity for Residential Support Workers to join an incredible Residential College in Nailsworth, which provides a huge range of therapeutic and practical courses for students with autistic spectrum disorder, disabilities, and other social, behavioural and learning differences.

The Residential Support Worker position involves working in both the college and residential provision, with students aged 16-25 years old. The service aims to work with students in a therapeutic and holistic way to remove barriers to learning and help young people reimagine their futures and potential.

Residential Support Workers will support students to participate in an amazing range of college courses, which include sustainable farming, horticulture, woodland management, animal husbandry, biodynamic fish farming, art, drama, pottery, basket making, and more.

Within the residential setting, you will support students in their day-to-day lives and in developing skills for future independent living, e.g. going to the gym, bowling, socialising, shopping, cooking and cleaning etc.

Shift patterns entail roughly three residential shifts (3.30pm-10pm) and two college/daytime shifts per week (8.30am-4.30pm), plus 1-2 sleep-ins per week (paid at £78 per night). You will work roughly 2 in 4 weekends, with some flexibility in shift length over the weekends.

Salary & Benefits:

This organisation offers an excellent salary ranging from £18,400 - £22,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications) plus up to ~£7000 in sleep-in payments. Benefits include:

We are looking for people with experience working with adults or young people with learning difficulties/special educational needs and/or challenging behaviours.

We are looking for resilience, compassion and creativity, and a strong desire to make an impact in a young person's life!

A Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification is desirable but not essential as you can be supported to achieve this in the role.

A full UK driving license is essential, as part of the role will involve transporting students to and from the college.
