About the RoleWe are looking for a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a friendly SEND school in Norton Canes. This rewarding role involves working on a 1:1 basis with a child who has mild autism (ASD), supporting their learning, confidence, and social development throughout the school day.
This position offers the opportunity to make a real difference — and could become an ongoing role, supporting the same child as they progress through school.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 classroom support to a pupil with mild autism (ASD).
- Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering tailored learning activities.
- Help promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
- Support social interaction and communication skills.
- Maintain a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
Requirements- Experience supporting children in an educational setting (school or nursery).
- Understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and strategies to support learning.
- A calm, patient, and positive approach.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3) – desirable but not essential.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
