The Opportunity

A well-established, highly organised distribution business is seeking a permanent Warehouse Operative/FLT Driver to join their friendly, close-knit team.

This is a hands-on, varied role within a clean, food-grade warehouse environment, ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, accuracy, and maintaining high health & safety and hygiene standards.

You’ll be involved in everything from goods-in and stock control to picking, packing and operating both Counterbalance and Reach trucks.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operating Counterbalance and Reach Trucks to load/unload vehicles and move stock within multi-tier racking
  • Booking goods in, checking and weighing materials, taking samples and completing accurate labels
  • Following strict quality, hygiene and food-handling procedures
  • Picking, splitting, weighing, packing and pallet wrapping customer orders
  • Ensuring all batch, weight and stock information is accurate and compliant
  • Monitoring stock conditions and keeping the warehouse clean and tidy (sweeping, vacuuming, shelf organisation)
  • Supporting stocktakes and maintaining accurate stock records
  • Liaising with the office regarding stock movement or issues
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and highlighting any issues or process enhancements

What We’re Looking For

  • Accredited Counterbalance & Reach Truck licences (essential)
  • Several years’ experience in a warehouse environment
  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding, fast-paced role (lifting up to 25kg+)
  • Strong numeracy skills (weights, volumes, basic maths)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Positive attitude, team-focused, reliable and proactive
  • Confident using IT systems for stock control and basic admin
  • Flexible, hardworking, and able to work independently when required

Working Environment & PPE

  • Clean, food-grade warehouse environment
  • PPE required: safety shoes and high-vis
  • Additional PPE available when needed (hair nets, gloves, masks, overalls)
  • Products include botanical ingredients (e.g., herbs/spices) — must be comfortable with strong smells
  • Very health-and-safety-focused workplace with excellent training standards
