Key Responsibilities of a Design Manager

- Lead and manage the design function across live projects and tenders
- Oversee RIBA stage progression, challenging briefs and driving design innovation
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and supply chain to ensure cohesive delivery
- Champion digital construction tools (BIM, 3D Models) and efficient workflows
- Ensure quality and buildability are at the heart of all design activities

Requirements of a Design Manager

- Strong background in main contracting - preferably across education, commercial and residential projects (£10-80m)
- Hands-on experience with pre-construction and delivery-stage design management
- Confident working with digital tools (BIM, 3D Modelling, etc..)
- Relevant qualification (BSc, HNC/HND) and ideally professional membership (e.g. CIOB)
- Full UK Driving Licence - some regional travel required
