This position is responsible for efficiently manufacturing food colors in accordance with applicable procedures to specified quality standards and customer specifications.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Producing natural food colors according to approved formulations and procedures while meeting production goals.
Operation of equipment including extractors, cookers, filtering presses, various pumps, mixing equipment, evaporators and a forklift as associated with the process.
General housekeeping and sanitation of the production and warehouse areas.
Shipping and receiving to include the loading/unloading of trucks.
Completing in process lab tests as required including use of scales, spectrometer, glassware, and pH meters.
Working with chemicals including caustics and acids.
Completing the required documentation
Preparing product samples.
Completing all appropriate system transactions.
Working in a team environment and cooperate with co-associates and leadership.
Actively participating in Continuous Improvement Projects.
Skill Requirements Include:
- The ability to operate forklift. (We will train)
- Basic math.
- Basic mechanical skills.
- Good reading, computer and decision making skills.
Physical Requirements Include:
- Work in a typical production environment.
- Able to climb stairs and ladders.
- Work with chemicals and hot material
- Shifts may vary from 8-12 hours.
- Standing and walking continuously all day.
- Maintain coordination and balance while working with up to 60 lbs. of materials and/or product, continuously, on a daily basis.
