Connected Search Group is exclusively partnering with a leading Sheffield-based technology consultancy undergoing an exciting period of growth and transformation. With a reputation for delivering complex digital solutions, exceptional client experience and a genuinely progressive culture, this business is now looking to appoint a Finance Manager to take ownership of day-to-day finance operations and help shape the future of the function.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering financial insight, driving operational improvements and building a robust finance environment that supports continued expansion across both the UK and US.

Our client is open to considering both full-time and part-time candidates (minimum 3 days per week), making this an excellent opportunity for someone seeking genuine flexibility while still playing a pivotal role in a high-impact, scaling environment.

The Role

As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial information, while ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day finance activities. Reporting directly to the COO, you will have genuine influence over systems, processes, controls and ongoing improvements across the function.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Reporting

* Oversee day-to-day finance activity, including SL, PL, expenses and general ledger bookkeeping.

* Manage customer invoicing, supplier payments and aged debtor/creditor control.

* Produce accurate monthly management accounts to agreed deadlines.

* Deliver improved management information for both the UK site and Group stakeholders.

* Complete balance sheet reconciliations (accruals, prepayments, fixed assets).

* Maintain strong cost control discipline across the business.

Cash Management

* Complete daily bank reconciliations.

* Lead weekly cashflow forecasting and liquidity planning.

* Support Group cash calls and weekly cash sweep requirements.

Group Reporting & International Support

* Liaise with Group Finance teams for consolidated reporting, budgeting and submissions.

* Provide finance administration for the US sister company, including bookkeeping and transactional support.

Compliance, Controls & Year-End

* Strengthen financial systems, processes and internal controls, identifying opportunities for automation.

* Manage year-end accounts preparation and support the external audit process.

* Submit VAT returns and HMRC filings accurately and on time.

* Liaise directly with HMRC regarding queries, investigations or compliance matters.

* Support statutory reporting, including P11Ds and PSA activity.

Budgeting & Forecasting

* Manage the annual budgeting cycle.

* Partner with department heads to improve financial visibility and accountability.

* Monitor performance vs budget, highlighting risks, trends and opportunities.

People Management

* Line-manage and develop a Junior Finance Administrator.

* Support the development of a strong internal finance culture as the function grows.

About You

Experience & Knowledge

* Proven background in financial management, including monthly management accounts.

* Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting and providing commercial insight.

* Strong Excel skills

* Experience with Xero, desirable.

Qualifications

* Part-qualified, qualified, QBE or studying CIMA/ACCA (or equivalent).

Compensation

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 FTE

26 days holiday plus bank holidays, plus 2 additional company-wide holidays, and your birthday off
