Milk Education are supporting a partner school in Northumberland to recruit a Teaching Assistant for a school-based nursery, working in the baby room. This position is suited to someone with strong early years experience who enjoys supporting infants as they grow and learn.

About the Nursery

The nursery focuses on providing a warm and nurturing setting where children feel secure and inspired. Outdoor learning shapes their approach, giving children genuine opportunities to explore nature, develop curiosity and build confidence. They are looking for dedicated Practitioners who enjoy working with babies and value time outdoors.

The Role

As a Practitioner working with children from 9 months old, you will help create a caring and engaging space. You will support children to reach key developmental milestones through sensory activities, outdoor exploration and thoughtful interaction.

Your Responsibilities

* Provide high levels of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for babies
* Plan and deliver activities linked to the EYFS framework
* Promote outdoor learning and nature-based play
* Act as a Key Person for a small number of children and build strong relationships with families
* Observe and assess children's progress and maintain learning journals
* Keep the environment safe, clean and well organised
* Work closely with the wider team and contribute to a positive atmosphere
* Follow all safeguarding policies and prioritise children's wellbeing
* Communicate clearly with parents and carers about their child's development

What We're Looking For

* A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years Qualification
* Experience in a nursery setting, ideally with babies
* A caring and enthusiastic approach
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
* Understanding of EYFS, safeguarding and child development
* Reliability, flexibility and commitment to high standards
