About the Role
A rewarding opportunity has arisen for an experienced SEN HLTA to join a forward-thinking and nurturing educational setting dedicated to supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will work in an inclusive, trauma-informed school environment where the focus is on unlocking the potential of every learner through care, structure, and meaningful engagement.

This is an ideal role for a passionate professional looking to deepen their experience in special education and play a key part in shaping the early development of a growing provision. The organisation has a strong track record in therapeutic residential care and is now expanding its educational services through the development of independent specialist schools for young people aged 11-16. This is a unique chance to contribute to something truly impactful from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

Support teachers in planning and delivering tailored, engaging lessons to meet a wide range of SEN needs.

*

Work one-on-one and in small groups to implement targeted interventions.

*

Assist with the creation and execution of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

*

Promote a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel safe and supported.

*

Monitor and record student progress, helping adapt strategies as needed.

*

Collaborate with teaching staff, families, and external professionals to support holistic student development.

*

Lead group activities and facilitate independent learning, following guidance from the teaching team.

Candidate Requirements

*

HLTA qualification (essential).

*

Minimum 3 years' experience working in SEN settings, across at least two schools.

*

Practical knowledge of supporting students with Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD).

*

Willingness to support students with personal care when required.

*

Must hold a valid DBS registered on the Update Service.

*

Empathetic, resilient, and driven by the desire to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable learners.
