Elevation Engineering & Manufacturing’s Skilled Shop Floor Team are delighted to be exclusively retained by Orchid Orthopedic Solutions, a global leader in the design and manufacture of orthopedic and medical device products.

With 10 world-class facilities worldwide, Orchid provides life-changing solutions across joint reconstruction, spine, trauma, sports medicine, extremities, and dental. Their Sheffield site employs around 300 people and specialises in joint reconstruction — particularly hips and knees — through Forge, Foundry, CNC Machining, and Finishing processes.

As a Forge Operative, you’ll play a key part in the production process, supporting the manufacture of precision components in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. While previous forging experience would be an advantage, Orchid also welcomes individuals from other industries with transferable skills and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspecting forgings for defects

• Following written Works Orders

• Identifying and separating scrap material

• Operating saws, shotblast, linishing, glassing, and straightening equipment (training provided)

• Material movement and general production support

• Adhering to all health & safety regulations

• Maintaining a clean and safe working area

• Assisting in ancillary operations and general duties as required

Skills & Competencies:

• Team player with good communication skills

• Methodical and organised approach to work

• Problem-solving ability with initiative

• Comfortable working independently once trained

• Experience in forging or heavy manufacturing environments (desirable, not essential)

• Keen to learn, develop, and progress within a world-class business

Hourly rate: £14.94ph (inclusive of shift allowance)Total hours: 37.5 per weekWorking pattern: 3-shift rotation (Days, Afters, Nights)

Shift details:

• Days: 05:45–14:00 (Monday–Friday)

• Afters: 13:45–22:00 (Monday–Friday)

• Nights: 20:00–06:00 (Monday–Thursday)
