Role: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Manchester

Salary: £40,000-£55,000

Job Specification:

Quantity Surveyor required to join a team working in Manchester to help run the Passive Fire Protection (PFP) division from a Quantity Surveyor perspective. The role will report to the Head of PFP.

The role is office-based but includes site visits. It will involve responsibility for understanding, quantifying, budgeting and managing the costs of the building work involved in the PFP division.

Responsibilities:

* To prepare and analyse project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labour and time.

* To assist and create feasibility studies.

* To prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.

* To allocate work to sub-contractors and oversee their work at all stages of the project.

* To perform risk, value management and cost control checks throughout the project.

* To negotiate contracts and work schedules.

* To undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance work.

* To advise on procurement policies.

* To value completed work and arrange payments.

* To understand health and safety regulations and help ensure their implementation.

Requirements:

* Experience of PFP construction build projects (essential).

* HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or a BTEC in Building Studies, Building Engineering or Building Management.

* A minimum of 3 years experience of managing elements of construction build projects as an Assistant/Quantity Surveyor
