HR Officer
  • Salary: Starting at £29,448.39 (excluding any agreed overtime)
  • Location: London
  • Job Type: Full-time, 35 hours per week for 44 weeks

We are seeking a dedicated HR Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of HR and administrative tasks, including recruitment procedures, data management, and providing support to the headteacher and senior leadership team. This role requires excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Day to Day of the role
  • Implement recruitment procedures and process applications.
  • Coordinate visits, trial days, and meetings with potential candidates.
  • Provide administrative support for shortlisting, interviews, and post-interview communications.
  • Maintain accurate staff records, including contracts and DBS processing.
  • Manage school workforce census tasks and statutory workforce data submissions.
  • Record staff absence data and training history.
  • Coordinate admissions for Nursery and Reception, manage in-year transfers, and support with pupil premium administrative tasks.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the headteacher, managing their diary and communications.
  • Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead with administrative tasks.
  • Perform general office duties, including managing mailboxes, visitor protocols, and maintaining a tidy office area.
  • Act as a fire marshal and manage evacuation procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in an HR role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Familiarity with SIMS, Applicaa, SAMS, or similar systems.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Competence in managing multiple tasks and prioritising workload.
  • Willingness to undertake training and participate in performance management schemes.
