Job Summary

The Supply Register is recruiting on behalf of NCG for a knowledgeable and passionate Higher Education Health & Social Care Lecturer to join the academic team at NCG's Higher Education Centre in London (E14 9GE).

This is an excellent opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching across undergraduate Health & Social Care programmes, supporting learners as they develop academic knowledge and professional understanding within the sector.

Applications are welcomed from experienced HE lecturers and professionals with a strong background in health, social care, or related fields who are keen to inspire and support students.

About the Role

As an HE Health & Social Care Lecturer, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and academically robust teaching at undergraduate level

  • Teach across modules such as Health & Social Care Practice, Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity, Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, Policy & Legislation, or Professional Practice (depending on experience)

  • Plan lessons, assessments, and marking in line with awarding body and institutional requirements

  • Support students with academic development, progression, and achievement

  • Contribute to quality assurance, curriculum development, and academic standards

  • Work collaboratively within a higher education teaching team

Requirements

Essential:

  • A degree (or higher) in Health & Social Care, Nursing, Social Work, Public Health, or a related discipline

  • Experience teaching in a Higher Education setting or delivering HE-level Health & Social Care content

  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to engage and support diverse learners

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and assessment skills

Desirable:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)

  • HEA Fellowship (or working towards)

  • Relevant professional or industry experience within health or social care
