Reed is proud to be working in partnership with a highly reputable college in Birmingham, currently seeking a dedicated Plumbing Lecturer to join their team on a temporary ongoing basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the college’s mission of delivering high-quality education and training that meets the needs of the local community.

??? Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging theoretical and practical lessons in plumbing and renewable technologies up to Level 3.
  • Plan and manage learning programmes, including curriculum development and regular reviews.
  • Track student progress and maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Act as a course leader, offering academic support and guidance to learners.
  • Conduct assessments, assign homework, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Manage classroom dynamics, including attendance, punctuality, and behaviour.
  • Liaise with parents, schools, and external organisations regarding student progress.
  • Uphold high standards in teaching and learning, both internally and externally.
  • Support enrichment activities, work placements, and educational visits.
  • Adhere to the college’s Quality Assurance procedures, including lesson observations.

�? Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Certificate in Education, PGCE, DTLLS, PTLLS, or equivalent (or working towards).
  • NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Technical Certificate in gas or plumbing.
  • Experience teaching up to Level 3.
  • Ability to teach renewable subjects such as heat pumps, solar/PV systems, and water harvesting.
  • TAQA Assessor & Verifier qualifications (or willingness to work towards).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven teaching experience and classroom management.
  • Team player with a collaborative approach.
  • Registered with a relevant professional body.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT skills.
