Behavioural Support Assistant

As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with behavioural, social, and emotional needs. Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams, you'll help pupils regulate their emotions, stay engaged in lessons, and develop positive coping strategies both in and out of the classroom.

The ideal Behavioural Support Assistant will:

Have experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, behavioural difficulties, or additional needs
Be calm, patient, and resilient when dealing with challenging behaviour
Use de-escalation strategies effectively and build trusting relationships
Be able to work collaboratively with staff and external professionals
Have a genuine commitment to supporting young people to achieve their full potentialKey Responsibilities:

Delivering personalised 1:1 and small group interventions
Supporting students in managing behaviour and regulating emotions
Encouraging and modelling positive behaviour and routines
Assisting teachers in adapting lessons to meet individual needs
