An outstanding opportunity has become available for the position of General Manager at a Charming Country-Style Pub and restaurant with 12 Luxurious Bedrooms.

The experienced team are looking for a passionate leader with the love for hospitality and a knack for creating unforgettable guest experiences.

This is an opportunity to be General Manager of a 5 star visit England award winning venue reopened following major investment in 2022 and has already built An excellent reputation for superb food offerings and luxurious comfort in the hotel rooms.

The restaurant can accommodate each sitting to approx 100 covers inside as well as 80 outside (weather permitting). The property is loved by locals, returning holiday makers, corporate guests and walkers as well as fishermen for the nearby River Test.

As General Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of the operation from ensuring exceptional customers service and maintaining the highest of standard of comfort and hospitality in the rooms, bar and restaurant along with ensuring key financial performance targets achieved .

Job Requirements & Responsibilities of the General Manager:

* Energetic with the ability to deal with extremely busy shifts with proven hospitality experience of working in a food led venue with hotel rooms.

* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

* Manage day-to-day operations which includes having a solid financial acumen and experience managing budgets and P&L to meet GP on food and beverage and rooms occupancy and average room rate targets.

* Ensure all cash or account procedures are followed according to company procedures and records maintained

* Develop and implement strategic plans to drive revenue growth and exceed guest expectations

* Ensuring marketing and advertising is planned strategically.

* Having the ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.

* Ensure the working environment remains clean & tidy with optimal ratings & cleaning schedules adhered to at all times. Liaising with hotel cleaning team.

* Great back-office knowledge when it comes to stock management, training and development, invoicing, health & safety, compliance and other management duties.

* Ensure all Mise En Place requirements have been met prior to service

* You must possess excellent attention to detail to ensure all aspects of Front of House and Customer experience are met.

* Ensure the customer experience is one to remember.

* Keep up required maintenance of the pub and hotel areas to ensure the highest standard of quality to preserve the charm of the venue.

* Excellent interpersonal skills, with a passion for building relationships with guests and staff

* Being able to recognise locals and their likes and dislikes as well as returning hotel guests.

* Provide a professional & efficient standard of service by maintaining training of staff by implementing comprehensive training programs to equip the team with skills and knowledge needed to deliver exceptional service and dining experience.

* Ensure staff are fully trained with opening and closing bar, restaurant and hotel procedures as required/appropriate.

* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire and develop a diverse full Front of House team.

* Briefing, supervising and liaising with the kitchen team. Working closely with the Head Chef, in order to ensure smooth running of the kitchen in order that they work in harmony with the FOH as well as discussing menu's, produce, cost of sales etc.

* Ensure staffing levels are correct throughout all. Liaise with Head Chef/Senior Kitchen Staff to ensure adequate staffing. Keeping check and managing all staffing costs

* Great English & Communication skills

* Liaise with the night manager updating on any problems during the night as well as advising his part time duties of maintenance and cleaning over the weeknights and weekends.

* Whilst you have full Management responsibilities of this independent Pub Restaurant and Hotel, the owners offer excellent support.
