Reeson Education is working with a warm, welcoming primary school in the M17 area who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team this September. This full-time, long-term Teaching Assistant role will involve supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll be a key part of the school's inclusive ethos - working 1:1 and in small groups with pupils who may have ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, social-emotional challenges, and more. You'll be supported by an experienced SENDCo and a collaborative staff team who value communication, consistency, and kindness.

Teaching Assistant - What You'll Be Doing:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support across KS1 and KS2 as a Teaching Assistant
- Assisting pupils with SEN including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH needs
- Supporting access to learning through tailored, individualised strategies
- Leading phonics groups, reading sessions, and play-based learning
- Creating a calm, positive learning environment as a Teaching Assistant
- Helping pupils build confidence, routine, and emotional regulation
- Supporting class teachers with behaviour, transitions, and classroom management
- Communicating with staff and parents about progress and needs
- Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils as a Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant - What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children with SEND in a school setting
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) preferred
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach
- Confidence in supporting across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 as a Teaching Assistant
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to inclusion and a belief in every child's potential
- DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
- Full-time availability from September
