Mid-Market P&C Underwriter

Salary: Circa £45k

Location:Kent (Hybrid Working - 60% away from home)

We're looking for a Mid-Market P&C Underwriter to join a growing commercial team in Kent. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to profitable growth, service excellence, and the development of broker relationships in key markets.

What You'll Be Doing

• Underwrite mid-market commercial P&C risks accurately and in line with appetite.
• Build and maintain a sustainable panel of broker prospects.
• Develop and strengthen broker relationships to identify opportunities and market trends.
• Issue accurate documentation and ensure compliance with processes and regulatory requirements.
• Use trading insights, data, and decision-support tools to deliver profitable growth.
• Collaborate closely across internal teams to drive portfolio success.

What You'll Bring

• Exposure to the UK General Insurance market and existing broker relationships.
• Strong technical underwriting expertise in commercial P&C.
• Commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and decision-making capability.
• Analytical skills with experience in account monitoring and action planning.
• Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements for insurance.
• Cert CII qualification desirable but not essential.
• Team player with a curious, pragmatic, and proactive approach.
